Your path is unique to you

‘I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged  in a wood, and, I,

I took the one less travelled by,

And that has made all the difference’.........

Yes, the road less travelled is harder to walk but it is worth walking as it would leave a trail behind forever to show the path to others just like an ever-shining lighthouse in the midst of darkness.

We all are encouraged to follow our dreams, but not all dreams are easy to achieve. Sometimes living the life we want to live means making difficult choices that go against the expectations of our families, communities, or cultures—and facing stigma, isolation, and uncertainty as a result. But still following our heart, believing in ourselves and treading in an uncommon direction is the key to success and satisfaction. Walking with the herd may be easy and right but not always.

Successful people don't do different things but they do things differently. They achieve success because they chose the path which is not chosen by others. Steve Jobs found success on the road less travelled. He doesn't need an introduction; he was more than the co-founder of Apple Computers and the brains behind the reinvention of companies like Pixar Animation Studios. His journey was not without adversities and downfalls. Rising from a humble background, a college drop-out, starting "Apple Computers" in a garage, a departure from his own company and again returning to introduce products like iPod, iPhone, iPad that influenced and changed the lives of millions worldwide.

Life is all about creating your path. It is about making the journey of your own, defining success and happiness in your own words. The beauty of life is that it is an empty book with only two pages pre-filled; the first (birth) & the last (death). The wonderful aspect is all other pages are to be filled by us and we are the architect of the whole journey. We only have a limited time here and we need to make the most of it. We all are unique, have extra-ordinary skills to need to ensure that in the end, the book is worth reading.

Let's make life a fulfilling journey with lots of attempts, filled with courage and satisfaction. Success and failures are just by-products and not the parameters of happiness. We need to remember that success doesn't come by reading success stories and following their path, rather it is by reading failed attempts and following a path which was never chosen. Choose your path, and, not the one others may want you to.

‘Do not go where the path lead, go instead whether there is no path and leave a trail’

- Ralph Waldo Emerson
