The Evolution of Technology and Artificial Intelligence

Times have changed and one of the most crucial parts of this is the evolution in technology. Since the invention of the first computer by Charles Babbage, the technological standpoint has seen a significant rise in the quality of hardware as well as software. An interesting aspect of technology that we see and hear about today is Artificial Intelligence.

What is Artificial Intelligence? Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the technique of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and imitate their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.

There is a lot of potential for AI development and it is extremely difficult to imagine a future without it. AI achievements have given an impetus to workplace productivity. AI will become a part of everyday life by the end of the decade, whether it’s self-driving cars, more accurate weather predictions, or space exploration. AI will also have a strong impact in healthcare advancements due to its ability to analyze massive amounts of data, leading to accurate treatment of medical conditions.

But all of this is not happening any time soon. However easy it might be for machine learning to self-improve it lacks intuition and human emotions and care. There’s a gut instinct that can’t be replicated via algorithms, making humans an important piece of the puzzle. The best way forward is for humans and machines to live together, relying on each other’s strengths and enjoy the best of both worlds.

As machines and technology are an indispensable part of human lives now. An apt example comes to my mind that Smart Phones are making everyone dumb by making us completely dependent on them. On the upside the smart phones are also our constant companions and we wake up and use it the first thing in the morning and also bid adieu to it the last at night.

The success mantra that worked yesterday will not work today with the changing needs of the hour and we need to make technology our best friend if we want to succeed and race ahead of our competitors and topple them also ensuring loyalty of customers.
