NAMASTE - AN ANTIDOTE TO CORONA VIRUS
In the third decades of the 21st century, the world is experiencing the biggest scathing attack of the virus in a decade on the survival of human beings. The World Health Organization(WHO) has announced that COVID -19 is a pandemic now. Across the world there have been more than 175,000 confirmed cases of COVID -19 and more than 7007 deaths. Even India is having 125 plus COVID–19 cases in the country.
COVID-19 is highly contagious and is spread by physical contact. In this atmosphere of corona virus worldwide, people afraid of shaking hands amidst corona virus fears are moving towards the traditional Indian “NAMASTE” - a lovely gesture of greeting each other with folded hands. NAMASTE is best way to greet each other instead of hugs and handshakes. Now-a-days, NAMASTE is gaining wide acceptability in the wake of corona virus outbreak which has a significant meaning too. NAMASTE has been derived from the two words- Nama, meaning bow and te meaning you. NAMASTE is basically a gesture of saying that “I honor the spirit in you which is also in me”. Also, it is said that while we join hands in saying namaste, there is a balance of positive and negative energy between the right and the left hands. There’s also a divine angle to namaste. It is said that the world nama indicates the term ‘not mine’ which means that the soul of each human being is controlled by one Supreme Soul. The action of namaste helps recognize the divine glimmer in another person. This non-touch technique help in preventing any physical contact and can be done by maintaining a proper distance. NAMASTE is hygienic, friendly and centres our energies. So we need to be more conscious, alert, careful and only “NAMASTE”.
NAMASTE – THE LIGHT WITHIN ME HONORS THE LIGHT WITHIN YOU.
