There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.
Friends! In my daily routine I make sure that every day counts and try to do something new or additional activity on a daily basis. This way I get the feeling that my day has not been yet another monotonous routine work day and add vigor to the otherwise mundane routine.
This also helps me to continuously update myself with the current scenario. Enrolling for a new certification course, writing research papers or articles ,attending various development programmes on the career front and acquiring new skills like learning new recipes, catching on to new technology, games, other arts and craft activities on the personal front takes me forward on the journey of continuous self-improvement.
Apart from making plans of self-improvement it is equally important to focus on the results. Whether the targets that have been set are achieved or not or there are deviations from the original set plan. There is a simple process that can be practiced to know the same.
- PLAN/SET TARGETS
- MEASURE YOUR PERFORMANCE/RESULTS
- COMPARE YOUR PERFORMANCE WITH THE TARGETS SET
- FIND OUT THE RESONS FOR DEVIATIONS( IF ANY) IN THE TARGET AND THE RESULT
- CORRECT/REMOVE DEVIATIONS
Thus above I have mentioned a very simple process to find out why our results are not in conformity with our targets set and by removing those deviations we can ultimately achieve our desired targets
A little effort on a daily basis takes us closer to our ultimate goal. We are also able to rise above our feelings of procrastination, thereby getting our work done on time and also enriching our quality of life in the process.
And Remember Friends!
ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY!
Likewise no work of substantial importance will ever occur by overnight efforts, we need to work relentlessly and tirelessly on a daily basis to achieve continuous self –improvement.
This is also imperative for a growing and flourishing career as a working professional, the moment your knowledge is obsolete the success in your career will take a backseat and the going may get tough.
Hence! Better to gear up and buckle up! The Sooner you start the process the better it is.”
As the saying goes, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”
