Keeping in view that sports inculcate in a person physical fitness and competitive spirit, SMS Lucknow organized Annual Sports Fest-2011 that opened on October 3, 2011 and closed on  14^th October 2011 comprising various sport events. The sports fest was carried out under the able guidance of Dr. Santosh Singh Sports Convener.

 During the sports event various outdoor sports like cricket, football, volleyball and indoor games like carom, chess and table tennis matches were carried out. The valediction ceremony commenced with the classical symbolic dance performed by the students of SMS. The perfectly synchronized contingents presented a perfect picture of confidence, coordination and determination among the students. The occasion was graced by Mr. Ranveer Singh, Former Captain, Indian Volleyball Team and the achiever of prestigious awards like Arjun Award, Laxman Award, Yash Bharti Samman. He was the captain of Indian volleyball team from 1979-1981 and was a core member of special selection committee, Sports College Lucknow. Addressing the gathering Mr. Singh, appreciated the efforts taken by the SMS group to motivate students toward the sports. He insisted that younger generation should make sports as a life style and they should try to excel in whatever sports they choose. Adding to his speech, he insisted the students to respect their mother, father and teachers. He said that one must always value time, education and hard work to achieve success in life. Mr. Sharad Singh, CEO, SMS group; Director PGDM, Director IT and Associate Director SMSGI with faculty members, staff members and honorable guests motivated the students on this occasion.

 The football final match was won by the Mechanical Engineering students by beating the combined team of Electrical & Electronics and Civil Engineering. The volleyball final match was won by the combined team of Electrical & Electronics and Civil Engineering beating the team of Mechanical Engineering.
