Sir C V Raman Centre for Research at SMS Lucknow propagates the Research & Innovation practices based on the following theme “Global Techno-Managerial Principles & Practices for o r g a n i s a t i o n a l D e v e l o p m e n t , Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development”
Background:
“Life is mortal” is known philosophy and a truth, but surviving a life as per the Maxim of Darwin, “Survival of the fittest” approach as a challenge of life today. The nature has its own role in shaping a life on the earth, goes with a universal truth again that “Main proposes and God disposes”.
The lap of nature is calling for a change through the management of the environmental systems and sub-systems. Climate change, Global warming and related issues of environmental degradation have posed the complex challenges for the human survival and have made it a global concern for the mankind. According to the world development Report 2010, the average temperature of the earth has already warned by close to 1.8 C. The U.N Conference on Human Environment (1972), Kyoto Protocol (1997) and the Bal Action Plan (2007) has called for public-private partnership in mitigation, adoption, technology and financing for managing climate change and global warming through a re-thinking process and create a synergy for mitigating environmental degradation for sustainable development. The environmental devastation and degradation has become an order of the day .it not only takes away a heavy toll of life but also major chunk of our economic resources in terms of GDP. The economic loss due to the environmental disasters & manmade disaster ranges b/w 8% to 20% globally. The relief and rescue operations have failed in the major economies of the world. The time has come when the world economies have turned in shaping their respective disaster management Acts to protect their economies and globally, the international agencies are pumping lots of money in the main stream environment protection and management affairs.
Objectives :
The centre contemplates the following objectives :
a) Research focusing in the area of global concern i.e. issues of disaster management and sustainable development, issues related to global warming and development prospective,Cost-Benefit analysis of the funding by the international agencies towards managing disasters, managing environmental threats causing damages to the agro-allied occupations etc.
b) Conducting Seminars and Conferences on the issues related to the environmental protection and sustainable development through technomanagerial innovations and practices.
c) Conducting workshops on the issues related to techno-managerial innovations and practices.
d) Preparing the modular training programmes on current techno-managerial issues in the form of EDP& MDP.
e) Publishing Bi-annual Journal of Technology & Management “SAMRIDDHI”.
