SMS Lucknow was established in the year 2008.
2) What is PGDM?
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a 2 year full time program comprising of over four semesters. The PGDM course seeks to enhance the students’ learning by offering knowledge-building projects in each semester, while fine-tuning their leadership, communication and inter-personal skills. This also includes knowledge building through foreign languages.
3) What are the research (Ph.D) opportunities for students at SMS?
After completion of their PGDM course, SMS students are eligible for Ph.D registration at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Moreover, SMS is also authorized research centre of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU). Plenty of students are pursuing their research work from this centre.
4) Who all are eligible for these courses?
A graduate in any discipline from a recognized university is eligible for admission to our PGDM programs including MCA . The candidates appearing for their final year examination/ awaiting final year results can also apply.
5) Whether institute is offering laptop?
Yes, it will be provided by the institute without charging any additional fee.
6) What are the total number of seats for the PGDM course?
PGDM- 60 Seats.
7) Are these courses approved by any regulatory body?
Yes all the courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Government of India. School of Management Sciences is also recognised under section 2(f) of UGC Act.
8) Which is the best PGDM stream?
It totally depends upon the interest and the previous academic background of the candidate. We are offering Marketing, Finance and HR as specialization in all the four PGDM courses. All the four PG programs are at par and having equal level of opportunities.
9) How is the Placement of the Institute?
We are having a well established Placement Cell working for our students for the last 15 years. The students never face a problem in getting a job, with a good salary from a company of repute. (We have almost 100% placement). For more details, you may refer to the Placement section on the website.
10) What types of jobs are offered to SMS Students?
SMS students are placed in diverse areas such as Manufacturing, Communication sector, Services sector, Financial sector, FMCG, Consumer durables & Insurance according to their chosen areas of specialization.
11) What degree/diploma will be awarded to students, after completion of the PGDM course?
You will get Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Approved by AICTE (Even IIMs provide a PGDM, which is accepted world wide, even usable in Govt. Jobs).
12) Where can I get the Admission form for admission?
The forms can be bought from the college campus or city office. The addresses can be obtained from our college website www.smslucknow.com. Forms can also be downloaded from the websites.

14) What are the Hostel & Transportation Charges?
Boys : Rs. 60,000/- * Including Lodging, Fooding and Transportation
: Rs. 75000/- * AC Room Including Lodging, Fooding and Transportation
Girls : Rs. 60,000/- * Including Lodging, Fooding and Transportation
Bus facility for Day Scholars students is available on deposit of Rs.14,000/- per annum.

The institute provides scholarships at various levels of study.
16) How are students of the PGDM programme evaluated? What is the parameter of their success in program?
SMS has adopted a system of continuous evaluation to motivate all students to gain excellence. The system is rigorous, requiring students to put in adequate hours of study. At the same time it is interactive and allows students to sharpen their knowledge of the subject by engaging in class discussions, case analysis and presentation, role-plays and interactive games, exercises and written tests along with quizzes. Students are continually informed of their performance in relation to the needed and expected standards.
17) What are international linkages of SMS?
SMS is having foreign collaboration with different universities and corporate houses worldwide viz., USA, Hungary, Singapore, Hongkong etc. for the purpose of student exchange, foreign industrial visits, joint research activities etc.
